How to make this layout
- Use kraft paper as your base and punch 20 hearts from a second piece of the same paper.
- Arrange hearts in a 4 by 5 grid filling the page. “Distress” the hearts on the canvas with sandpaper or with white paint and a dry brush.
- Mat or frame a 5.5″ x 4″ photo.
- Prepare a foundation for the photo with misting, masking or painting in bottom right corner. Erin masked a green dotted block for her foundation.
- Mount photo at bottom right. Punch and layer an additional heart at bottom left of photo. Add journaling. Add “faux” stitching by drawing dashed journaling lines with a white sharpie. Draw them running off the heart to add to the sense of it being actual stitching.
- Combine big white alphas with small black dymo tape for a title with inherent contrast.
- Add a few black ink splatters.
