Use this 6-step formula to make easy scrapbook pages. Doris Sander’s “Here Come The Sun” is a page rich with layers and patterns. The chevron print along the left is “pieced” of multiple patterns already and adds a quick custom look. (Check out Doris’ how-to for the layered hearts in the Learn More section below.)[hr]
How to make this layout
- Trim a piece of chevron print paper to 3″ x 12″ and adhere down the left side of the page.
- Trim a piece of paper to 8.5″ x 10″ to use as the photo mat. Mount a little crooked, flush with top edge, and leaving white space on right and below.
- Layer a 6″ x 4″ photo, two smaller rectangles of patterned paper, and a tag on the photo mat. Add a strip of patterned paper over the “seam” where the chevron print and mat meet.
- Trim the “bar code” strip from patterned paper and use for handwritten journaling. Mount at top, extending from beneath the chevron print.
- Embellish with a cluster at top right and a strip of handcut hearts at lower left — running over the seam where the chevron print and the mat meet. (See link for making folkart hearts below.)
- Add title.
