One of the quickest ways to come up with ideas for subjects to scrapbook is to make lists: favorites, peeves, cupboard contents, quirks, goals, reasons, sights, lessons and more.

9 television series this season
Kiki Kougioumtzi says, “I’ve listed all the TV series we watch this season.I was inspired by Lynnette Penacho’s favorites layout, but made this one simpler. I placed my photos in a loose but obvious grid and numbered them. The numbers correspond with the numbers in my journaling. Also, for my background paper I choose a ledger pattern to add to the accounting feel.”[hr]
3 “then and nows”
Deborah Wagner says, “This page compares a list of things about my niece when she was a little girl to a list of things about her now. Each of the three black and white photos of her when she was younger correspond to a line of the journaling.”[hr]
the evidence of her “inner librarian”
Susanne Brauer says, “This page list the things about my nature that are proof that I really should be a librarian. I put my list journaling on a library check-out card, tucked into a pocket, just like those found in library books. Instead of including a picture for every item on the list I used a cluster of three photos showing parts of my book collection. The photos tie into the first three statements. If you pull the card all the way out, you see many more reasons why I am a librarian on the inside.” [hr]
15 songs her theater group performed
Heather Awsumb says, “I created a playlist in iTunes of favorite songs that my community theater group performed in our productions. My journaling is a simple list of the songs, and I added photos from our shows. Since it’s hard to format bullet points in Photoshop Elements I’ve learned to use brackets (like forward pointing arrows) to indicate a new line. I centered the names of shows above each series of songs.” [hr]
8 lessons from her grandchildren
Brenda Becknell says, “Having grandchildren has taught me a lot and reminded me of some things I had forgotten over the years. I decided to document some of these lessons in a list. I used a grid design with the journaling in the center, but too keep the page from being too blocky, I surrounded the journaling block and small photos of my grandkids and blocks and strips of brightly colored papers. In keeping with the childhood theme, I added pinwheel embellishments made of the same patterned paper filling the blocks on the page.”[hr]
6 reasons he loves snow
Rosann Santos-Elliott, “It’s the snowy time of year in the northeast and January’s weather hasn’t disappointed. It even meant a snow day for my son, who just wants to play in the snow now matter how cold it is outside. I interviewed him about the reasons he loved the snow. He listed: It feels like Christmas, snowmen, snow angels, we can go skiing, fluffy and soft, and, finally, because it’s so much fun.”[hr]
7 reasons for pursuing her one little word
Marie-Pierre Capistran says, “Health is my one little word this year. I made a list (under the picture, it’s a little bit hard to see on the picture because it’s white) of the smaller actions I have to and want to take to get to my main goal: to be healthy! I added a quote to motivate me and help me keep the why in mind. For the design, I aligned the title, the photo and the list on one side of the layout and I kept the quote very low key so that it doesn’t steel the show.”[hr]
