Leah Farquharson says, “This past year, we had our very first Christmas at home – just us as a family. It has to be my most favorite Christmas ever. I snagged a few photos of gift opening in the morning, and then, the camera was put away, and we just spent the day as a family.”

Brenda Becknell says, “At age two and a half, my granddaughter was really into opening presents last Christmas. The whole “opening” process was almost more fun for her than the gifts, and I chose photos that show how intent she was on the whole process: tearing open paper and digging into gift bags.”

“My original plan was to stitch a border around the photos with the twine, but it was a little too thick and I didn’t like the look, so I just punched a tiny hole in each corner and threaded the twine through to make the border.”

Tara McKernin says, “This is a snapshot of our Christmas morning back in 2009, Jake’s first Christmas with us, such wonderful memories.  I chose a photo heavy template and focused mostly on the children and their joy that morning. I plan to include baseball card protectors filled with more images from our morning.”

Christy Strickler says, “I always take a ton of photos when my son opens his gifts and make it a point to capture one good photo with that year’s big gift. “

“When it comes time to create a layout, I choose the photos with the best facial expressions. Since there is often a lot of action in the holiday photos, I keep the design simple.

Chris Asbury says, “When our son was young, our Christmas mornings always began with a ‘first-thing-in-the-morning’ photo–a time to catch the sweet remnants of sleep and the glow of excitement and anticipation on our son’s face.  The presents wait while my husband and son share a special moment together. This is from December 1995.”

Meghann Andrew says, “This layout records last Christmas when my Dad took all of the family presents up to my Grandma’s house in our John Deere ATV. I don’t normally take or scrapbook Christmas photos, but these make me laugh every time i look at them.”

“I didn’t use any Christmas-themed product here, but the finished layout still looks ‘Christmas-y.’ I also like throwing in a non-traditional color, like grey, just to mix things up.”

Deborah Wagner says, “This is a photo of my sister and her family taken on Christmas Day. I loved my nephew’s Santa hat so I left it in color while converting the rest of the photo to black and white. I blended a snowflake paper into the photo because the original background was distracting.”

Amy Kingsford says, ” I rarely make double-page layouts, but for events like Christmas Day I can paint a more accurate portrait of the entire day. I used a template and a few bold paper prints from my favorite Christmas kit. I chose photos that were a good representation of the cast, the events, and emotions on that day.”
